Today was our friend Madison’s last day at St. John. Madison and her family are moving so she will be changing schools. We will miss her very much.
Thank you for helping your child learn about his/her culture! Each student got to share the information with the class today. I hope to see you at the Multicultural Event and Auction tonight at 6:30pm in the gym.
Thank you to all of the parents that attended our field trip on Thursday. The class really enjoyed the day!
I hope you had a chance to come check out our No Go Seat at the Invention Convention on Thursday. The class worked together to create an invention that would solve our class problem of not getting work done .
Our end of the year picnic is coming up on June 1st. The permission slip and payment was due today. If you did not turn it in please send it in on Monday.
We will take our final STAR testing in Math and Reading on Tuesday. Please make sure your child is here and on time on Tuesday. Make sure your child gets to bed early on Monday night and has a good breakfast on Tuesday. Please pack an extra snack for Tuesday.
Thursday is our Spring Concert beginning at 6:30pm. All students should be in the classroom by 6pm dressed in nice spring clothing (no jeans).
We continued to read our chapter book The Mouse and the Motorcycle. As a class we read one chapter each day. Students then answer comprehension questions and we practice a different literary skill each day. We will continue to read this book for the rest of the school year. Students will keep all of the assignments together to turn in at the end of the unit.
In math, we finished our chapter on data. We took the Chapter test today. Look for this next week. We will begin our final chapter on geometry and fractions next week.
In religion we reviewed the parts of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
In Science we worked on our invention. Students also presented their chatterpix animal report.

Our VIP will take home the VIP bag and will have special privileges next week. VIP’s are chosen based on good behavior, staying on task, having a positive attitude, and making good choices.
